What to Do if You Need to Make a Claim.

Before lodging your claim with us, there are a few important steps you can take to minimise the impact on your property or business and ensure everyone’s safety:

Prioritise Safety

Evacuate staff and neighbours if necessary.

Emergency Services

For serious damage, contact the SES or fire brigade. Call 000 immediately if anyone is injured.

Report to Police

If you experience a burglary, attempted break-in, or malicious damage, notify the police as soon as possible.

Prevent Further Loss

Take reasonable steps to protect your property. Secure broken windows with emergency boarding or arrange security if needed. Your insurance covers the cost of emergency repairs and temporary security.

Move Valuable Items

If safe to do so, relocate items at risk of further damage to a secure area.

Do Not Admit Liability

Avoid making any statements that could suggest you were at fault. This protects your claim and allows your insurer to fully support you.

Gather Quotes and Evidence

For smaller property claims, one repair or replacement quote is usually enough. For larger losses, an assessor may need to inspect the damage—contact our office quickly so we can coordinate this for you.

Take Photos and Keep Receipts

The more evidence you can provide, the faster and easier the claims process will be.
